  • Greenpeace Offers Rare Praise for Apple

Last night at the annual D11 conference hosted by All Things Digital, Apple CEO Tim Cook told Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg that the former administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is now part of the Apple family.

Lisa P. Jackson was hired by Apple to oversee its environmental initiatives. Despite Apple's ongoing commitment to the environment and making its operations as eco-friendly as possible, the iDevice maker continues to draw fire from critics insisting that the company can and should do more to go green.

So far, the hiring of Jackson is being universally lauded by environmental activists who are more familiar with blasting Apple than complimenting the company's actions. On Wednesday, for example, Greenpeace's Gary Cook awarded high marks to Apple for hiring Jackson, whose record on environmental matters is sterling.

"Jackson can make Apple the top environmental leader in the tech sector by helping the company use its influence to push electric utilities and governments to provide the clean energy that both Apple and America need right now," Cook said today.

Thanks for pointing that out I rarely do that. I'll attribute that to not paying attention. Funny I'm trying to clarify something and I make a grammar mistake.
