Apple Updates iTunes Movie Trailers App With Quality Selector, Fandango Integration
Apple has issued an update to their iTunes Movie Trailers application Wednesday afternoon bringing the application to version 1.2.3. iTunes Movie Trailers is a great way to stay up to date on recent movie releases, as well as watch movie trailers, view ratings, and find out where you can watch the movies in a theater near you.
Wednesday’s update to iTunes Movie Trailers brings Fandango integration. With Fandango integration, users can now purchase tickets to a movie through the Fandango application right from the iTunes Movie Trailers application. Notably, Apple just added this feature to Siri too with the release of iOS 6.1
The update also gives users of retina display devices or iPads the ability to choose between high detail and standard detail when watching a movie trailer from the application. This feature was integrated to make loading the trailers for movies less of a hassle on sub-par Wi-Fi networks where buffering became an issue. It can also reduce data usage when viewing trailers on cellular networks.
Video playback has been improved in iTunes Movie Trailers, as it now takes much less time upon tapping on a trailer for the trailer to actually begin playing. This, on top of the quality selector, should provide a much zippier experience for the user.
Apart from additional improvements to performance and stability, the update doesn't touch on any other major features. Existing users will find the update in the Updates tab of the App Store. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of iTunes Movie Trailers for free via this App Store link
