New Windows 8 Tablet Commercial Uses Siri Against the iPad
Microsoft recently aired an advertisement titled "Less talking, more doing," which pits a tablet running the companyís Windows 8 platform against the iPad. The interesting thing about the ad is that it features an unlikely narrator: Appleís personal assistant, Siri.
The commercial, which was first spotted by The Verge
, gives off the vibe of an Apple ad in the beginning, complete with upbeat music and a large amount of white space around the product. Things turn sour really quickly as one notices the white iPod is not paired with the usual iPad mini but instead a black tablet running Windows 8.
Siri then appears to be struggling with a few functions that are highlight features for a Microsoft Windows 8-running tablet. Live updating tiles, multitasking and PowerPoint are mentioned as things Siri, and by proxy the iPad, canít do.
At the end of the commercial, pricing for each device is prominently displayed, in this case itís the $699 64 GB iPad and a similarly equipped $449 Asus VivoTab Smart.
