Use 'RemoveNCStatusBar' to Hide the Status Bar From Notification Center
Notification Center is used for getting quick access to NotificationsÖ and a few conveniently placed widgets. Most of the time we donít spend more than a couple of seconds there, so having a Status Bar isnít absolutely necessary; getting rid of it would not only reduce clutter, but make more room for third-party widgets from Cydia.
A new free jailbreak tweak called RemoveNCStatusBar by iOS developer magn2o allows you to completely remove the Status Bar from Notification Center. The tweak also bumps all of your Notification Center content up where the Status Bar used to be in order to fill up the blank space, which is helpful because no space is wasted at all.
With this feature, more of your notifications or third-party widgets will be visible at a glance; another benefit to the tweak that is that you get rid of the rather tacky-looking white text on the linen Notification Center background.
The downfalls to the tweak are obvious; for example, you will no longer have access to your Status Bar from Notification Center, and this makes it harder to keep track of the time, signal strength, and battery level. On the other hand, because we hardly spend more than a few seconds in Notification Center, this might not be that big of a deal for most people.
If you'd like to grab RemoveNCStatusBar and try it for yourself, it's available for free in Cydia's ModMyi repository. The tweak has no options to configure.
