  • iOS 4.1 GM Now Available to Developers

iOS 4.1 GM has been released to official Apple Developers, and to our delight it includes the mentioned HDR support for Photos.

Aside from all the bug fixes, this is an addition we are looking forward to. As Michael reported, Apple is adding the new HDR (high dynamic range) standard to photos, an addition that apparently takes "photo quality to a whole new level". All of which is included in the newly released GM.

If your a registered Developer and don't have to worry about jailbreaking, head on over to your Dev Center and Download iOS 4.1 GM today.

If your not a Developer, don't be messing around with this.

Might sound like a silly question this and if it does then I apologise but what is usually the time scale from this point, when the GM has been released, to the full update release? (When its availbale through itunes). Im trying to gauge just for far away the next jailbreak will be (if there will be one for 4.1 that is) Thanks in advance guys

ya it seems to be really close by just using the jailbreak for 4.0 just a few bugs and probaly a few name changes cause im guessing the phone.app got changed a little so the jailbreak cant find it and add it

I knackered up my 3GS to such an extent it bricked. I had to update to 4.02 just to get it working again. I backed up the shsh but thought I would wait and see what transpires over the next couple of weeks rather than downgrade. Hopefully 4.1 would have been released aswell as a jailbreak

So does anyone know if this update actually fixes the proximity issue? I realize it's stated, but can anyone confirm?

Apple UK website says 4.1 will be available on the 8th according to engadget. I sure hope the jb and unlock is not too far behind.

Come on. Goto winter board and get the disable multitasking AND goto settings, general, home button, spotlight search, DE-select all, then reboot. Speeds up everything except the phone book...
      Good luck,

      No way dude!
The 3G cannot process fast enough for multitasking. We did it through cydia, but nowhere near the speed that the 3GS or the 4 can.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I never enabled multitasking, have removed spotlight options, removed launch daemons, and have done a restore.

Everyone seems to be having great luck with their 3G speeding back up, this makes me soo excited beyond belief. My phone is such a joke to even use right now, I hate it. I really hope devs release a jailbreak to go along with this, I don't know if I can wait until November.

I feel your pain! As far as you "activating" multitasking, you did it when you upgraded past 3.1.3
I upgraded to 4.0 because my phone ate it's brain and bricked itself. Made me so mad, I could not even use it as an ipod. it worked pretty good as a door stop, (no, I am not kidding) and was pretty usefull as a paper weight. I wanted to find the nearest toilet, but my laziness won. I was sitting on the couch ready to chuck it, but put it in DFU mode instead, and that was the day APPLE stopped signing 3.1.3
Needless to say, i upgraded to 4.0, and promptly kicked myself in the @$$. I was able to JB with the help of STEALTH BRAVO and GOOGLE and found out about the mini umbrella.
In the mean time, i had switched back to my NOKIA N95 and ANDROID G1. just gotta have the smart phone thing going on!

      Long story short,
Downgrade w/ mini umbrella or just buy a cheap 3Gs FACTORY unlocked from ebay for $295.00
JB is a breeze, and you don't have to play the upgrade / unlock game anymore!
      Right Stealth Bravo?
