Back in February, we showed you a jailbreak tweak called Photo Organizer by iOS developer lordscotland, which adds some additional useful features to the Photos application in iOS to make organizing your photographs easier and more efficient.
The same developer has just launched Photo Organizer Pro, which is basically the same jailbreak tweak with even more useful features. The new features that Photo Organizer Pro gives you include shaking to automatically delete removed items and import photographs easily though the /var/mobile/Media/DCIM sub directory. That is, if you create a sub directory such as /var/mobile/Media/DCIM/Vacation, then copy some photographs to it using iFile or OpenSSH, and then give the Photos app a shake, those photos are automatically imported into a new "Vacation" event album. This can be done with any number of sub directories; this feature bypasses having to use iTunes for photo management.
Other new features include being able to easily sort your photographs by date taken, file size, or file name as shown above, and being able to easily select all photographs in your albums at once as shown below:
Other features that the tweak comes with that already come in the free Photo Organizer jailbreak tweak include:
- Change the order of photos within your album grid view
- Move (not copy) your photographs from your Camera Roll to another album
- Use two fingers to tap on two photographs at once and every photo in between the selected photos will be selected
- Rearrange the order of your albums when in album list view
To begin adding these additional features to your Photos application today, you can download Photo Organizer Pro from Cydia's BigBoss repository for just 99¢. Photo Organizer Pro is compatible with iOS 5.1.1 and later and supports iPhone, iPod touch, and even the iPad! The tweak has no options to configure.
