  • 'RemoteTweet' Adds Social Sharing Features to Apple's Remote App for iOS

If you like sharing the music you’re listening to on Twitter or Facebook, then a new free jailbreak tweak called RemoteTweet might pique your interest.

RemoteTweet adds Twitter and Facebook sharing abilities to Apple’s Remote application, which is available for free in the App Store. With the tweak, whenever you’re controlling your iTunes library via the Remote application, you will be able to share via Twitter the music that you’re playing with your followers.

You can share what you’re listening to via one of two different methods: 1, you can tap and hold on the song information on the navigation bar, which is at the top of the Remote application; 2, you can tap on the “i” button that appears at the bottom of the Remote application by the music controls.

After you perform one of the two aforementioned functions, iOS’ built-in Twitter integration displays a Twitter share sheet (Facebook share sheet if you choose Facebook) that is auto-filled like the one above. You can edit any of the contents before Tweeting, or you can customize your own Tweet string from the tweak's preferences pane in the Settings application:

The format field is where you set how the share sheet will be auto-filled. You can use any of the Macros offered to auto-fill information for you. You can also specify your favorite social networking application and enable or disable attaching an artwork image to your share sheet.

RemoteTweet requires that you have Apple's Remote application installed in order to use it. You'll find it for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository.
