  • Tim Cook Teases New Apple Products This Fall

For the last six months, Apple has been hearing one criticism more consistently than all others. From Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, to a cadre of high-profile Wall Street analysts, Apple keeps hearing that it needs to innovate, innovate, and innovate some more.

Amidst widespread expectations that Apple would only refresh familiar products in 2013 and hold off on entering new product categories until 2014, investors have continued to pound AAPL this year in response to the company's apparent innovation stagnation.

But during Apple's Q2 2013 earnings call this afternoon, Apple CEO Tim Cook set the record straight on Apple's plan for the rest of 2013. "The most important objective for Apple is developing innovative products," Cook said, stopping short of revealing what these products may be.

For the first time this year, Cook has been candid in telling reporters and investors that new products are in the pipeline for "the fall and all of 2014," reiterating on the call that "a lot more surprises in the works."

iPhone 5S, Apple HDTV, Apple TV with Apps, iPad 5...did i miss something? Whether or not they will be revolutionary is not the point. Will I want them? That is the point.

Following the continuous Apple pattern, we'll only see the same products with no major improvements. I've lost all faith in Apple since the 4S.

Some people are kosher, some people are gay. Sometimes I wonder if there's a new breed of iSt00pid in the air.
He's just making an observation. Some people don't care for the concept of being gay while others don't care for people not liking the gay issue. It's a personal decision that should not be attacked in a hypocritical attempt to protect the converse.

you'll get a watch that only tells time, a tv with only basic cable, glasses with no search feature, and a robot that only tells you the weather.

There was the (Lisa) Macintosh also. And the Intel-based Macs are pretty nice with the ability to seamlessly run Windows programs.

And why do we care? Oh, we don't.

Something I am looking forward to is a higher resolution monitor (thunderbolt display or equivalent). It's a little irritating working with a retina display macbook pro and a non-retina (1080p) monitor. As for the rest of the rumored devices, I wouldn't be surprised with just small upgrades this year. Looks like we will have to wait until 2014 for the real goodies.

I would bet money that even if Jobs were alive now Apple would still be in the same position (declining stocks, perceived stagnant innovation, etc.), except people wouldn't be as fussy because they trusted Jobs. Poor Tim Cook is just in a bad situation.
      You forgot about iTunes...
