Yahoo! Wednesday updated their standalone mail client for iOS with support for the iPad and iPad Mini. Yahoo! Mail, initially launched in December of last year, has supported only the iPhone and iPod touch until today.
Yahoo! Mail, in addition to the iPad and iPad Mini support, has received some new features in today’s update to version 1.5. One such new feature is the ability to enter full-screen reading mode, which allows the user to use the entire display to read e-mail messages and view e-mail content, such as attachments. Yahoo! mentions that this new feature looks a lot like a magazine when going through your messages.
Yahoo! has also added support for advanced message options to their mail client to make your life easier, including:
- Grouping messages by sender when selected
- Deleting social media notification messages
- Starring messages from important people
- Moving messages into family folders
Apart from the new features and support for iPad models, Yahoo! has extended language support in Yahoo! Mail 1.5 for iOS. Dutch, Greek, Indonesian, Romanian, Swedish, Thai, and Vietnamese languages are now supported.
Yahoo! Mail is a free application, and thanks to today’s update, is now a universal application. If you use Yahoo! Mail, you will find today’s update via the Updates tab in the App Store. Alternatively, you can download Yahoo! Mail for free via this App Store link.
