  • Yahoo! Weather Released in the App Store

Yahoo has Thursday released a new Yahoo! Weather application for iOS. The new weather application certainly wows us with a wonderful user interface, and gorgeous graphics.

Depending on the location used, Yahoo! Weather shows a specific background. Above that background, the application shows the current temperature, the high and low temperature, and the weather conditions; at the top of the application are the time and the name of the location.

When you tap on the current temperature, a weather sheet shows up showing you the forecast for the next five days. It includes an hourly weather forecast for the current day, just like the iOS weather application. Icons are used to indicate if it will be sunny, cloudy, rainy, etc. Temperature can be changed from Fahrenheit to Celsius and vice-versa via the application's settings.

While youíre in the five-day forecast sheet, you can scroll down to reveal information about the humidity, visibility, radar map, precipitation, wind, solar, and lunar information.

Like the iOS weather application, you can add as many locations as you would like to, or you can just use your current location. Yahoo!ís new Weather application is a huge step up from the iOS weather application, and itís free. You can grab the universal app from this App Store link.

I switched back to TWC MAX. The map slowness and inaccuracy has pissed me off. And not having the extended hourly.

Looks like its still storming over my house when it was long gone. 😡

Slow to load- compared to stock Weather app. Takes my i4 7-8 seconds to load the app. Radar, I agree, is really slow to load. Except for that it's a great app.

App loads instantly, but the radar is painfully slow and doesn't finish or load at all sometimes.

But it's the inaccuracies in the map that really got me. My friend pointed it out, but I didn't think it was that bad until I started monitoring during the storms. It's terrible...way off, not just a little.

And I like the extended hourly forecast nt TWC MAX.
