  • Former Apple Maps Boss Hired At Facebook

Sources close to the social network of one billion members indicate that Facebook has hired the former head of Apple Maps.

A member of the original iPhone team, Richard Williamson was once in charge of Apple’s mapping efforts. But as of earlier this month, he's been working alongside Mark Zuckerberg.

Williamson joined Facebook in the past couple of weeks to be a manager within its expanding mobile-software group, said two of the people, who declined to be identified because the information isn’t public.
Williamson spent more than a decade with Apple and was hand-picked by Steve Jobs to help design and build software for the first generation iPhone.

All told, Williamson is just the latest talent to find a home at Facebook after first working at Apple. Other ex-Apple employees now at Facebook include Greg Novick, a former iPhone manager; Mike Matas and Kimon Tsinteris, software designers; and software engineers Scott Goodson, Tim Omernick and Chris Tremblay.

I think he'll fit in perfectly as every time they update Facebook it gets more and more screwed up.

I'd have to agree completely, every update seems worse then the last, I really can't understand how it can be this difficult for a multi-billion dollar company to get it right lol
