'SliderKiller' Disables the Pesky "Slide to" Functions on the Lock Screen
In iOS, when you receive a notification on the lock screen, you will be presented with a “Slide to View” or “Slide to Reply” unlock slider that takes you directly to the application with the notification when you unlock the device. The only way to get around this is to inconvenience yourself either by pressing the sleep button to put the device to sleep and then wake it up by pressing the sleep button again, or to unlock the device to the application with the notification and then close the application to do what you really want to do instead.
A new free jailbreak tweak called SliderKiller
by iOS developer Julian Weiss
makes it so you don’t have to inconvenience yourself at all. Instead of forcing you to “Slide to Reply” or “Slide to View” a notification when a notification appears on your lock screen, the tweak makes the normal “Slide to Unlock” slider appear on the lock screen. This includes the Camera Grabber, which is not visible when the slide to unlock slider says “Slide to Reply” or “Slide to View.”
The tweak’s effect is a very minimal mod, but for those that don’t want to respond to their notification immediately and don’t want to inconvenience themselves to put the device to sleep and wake it up again, this free jailbreak tweak is a nice way to simply get done what you want to get done. If you really did want to respond to the notification immediately, even with the tweak installed, you could simply open the application with the notification after unlocking your device.
You will find SliderKiller in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now at no charge. The tweak doesn't come with any options to configure.
