  • 'Faded Camera Wallpaper' Puts a Faded Front Camera Overlay Over Your Wallpaper

Are you looking for another cool mod to install on your iOS device? – If so, then check out Faded Camera Wallpaper by iOS developer greensnow.

Faded Camera Wallpaper is a new free jailbreak tweak that puts an overlay of whatever your front-facing camera is looking at over the basic home screen wallpaper. This makes it so that if you’re using your iPhone, you’ll be able to see yourself in a pretty neat special effect, just like shown above. Because the real-time camera image is displayed as an overlay, you will still be able to see your wallpaper underneath.

Notably, the tweak works for the home screen and not the lock screen. Front Camera Wallpaper is not in effect whenever the device is locked and when you’re within applications, as it’s designed only for the home screen. It’s also important to consider that because the tweak is using your front facing camera whenever you’re on your home screen that you will probably experience noticeable battery drain.

Faded Camera Wallpaper doesn't come with any options to configure and works on any iOS device that has a front-facing camera. If you have some battery life to spare, and want your iOS device to do something cooler than all of your friends’ iOS devices, then check out Faded Camera Wallpaper via Cydia’s ModMyi repository!

This is actually kind of cool. I can tell this will be a majoy battery drain though. It would also be nice if we could configure it to use the rear camera. Thank you GreenSnow....

It's flaky. It keeps turning off, both on iPhone 5 & iPad 2. The only way I know to turn it back on is to respring. Still, pretty cool when it works, for a free tweak. I have not noticed any battery issues, maybe because it keeps turning off.
