  • Apple and T-Mobile Begin Taking iPhone 5 Pre-Orders

Apple and T-Mobile have both begun pre-orders for the iPhone 5 as previously announced. The launch date for the iPhone 5 is scheduled for April 12th which is coming up just one week from today. If you’re eager to hop on the bandwagon, now’s your chance!

As many of you probably already know, T-Mobile is the last of the four major carriers in the United States to start selling the iPhone 5 without a cellular service contract. Although the carrier is still working to expand its LTE network as quick as possible, some customers may not mind the service renovations since their monthly bill may be a bit cheaper by going through T-Mobile as a carrier. When Apple's phone hits store shelves on April 12, T-Mobile subscribers will be able to use the device to access the carriers new LTE network in seven U.S. markets which include: Kansas City, Kan., Houston, Tex., Las Vegas, Nev., Phoenix, Ariz., San Jose, Calif., and Washington D.C.

For those of you who didn't know, the iPhone 5's T-Mobile debut lines up with the company's "Uncarrier" campaign, which drops phone subsidies in exchange for lower monthly rates. With the new plan, a 16 GB iPhone 5 will be sold for a $99 front fee with 20 additional payemnts of $20 covering the remaining cost of the phone.

Will you be picking up the iPhone 5 on the T-Mobile network?

The above article has an incorrect payment plan listed. The payment plan (on approved credit) is $20/month for 24 months. There is no $650 down payment as indicated in the picture above.

Your right unless it's plated in gold or something where you would need a $650 down payment.

      $99 for the phone
      $50 simple basic plan
      $20 unlimited 4G
      $20 2 year monthly payments
Save $100 on the phone down payment compared to AT&T, paying $90/month for the phone which would be same as what I pay now...
If I do not have a phone I would go with T-Mobile instead of AT&T, this plan does not make me want to switch which should be the market they need to fighting for.

If 5S has minimal improvement I'll pass on 5S because no jailbreak for a long time.

$99 down + $140 a month for two lines comes out to $3,460 for two years. (I'm using two years to compare apples to apples, I know it's no contract)

I pay AT&T $199 for the iPhone 5 + $85 a month. Comes out to $2,240. I have unlimited data and thousands of rollover minutes.

Only a dumbo would go to t-mobile. What is t-mobile thinking?

T-Mobile 24 months x 90 a month for unlimited = $2,160 plus $99 down so $2,259. AT&T doesn't offer unlimited anymore and you can't always count on roll over minutes.

AT&T 24 months for unlimited talk and text and 3GB is $120 a month for 24 months = $2,880 plus 99 for phone so $2,979 over 2 years.

I'm not genius or anything but it looks like you'd have to be a dumbo to stay with AT&T unless you like paying 30 more a month and being limited to 3GB.
