Adobe CTO Coming to Apple
Kevin Lynch has resigned as Adobe's CTO and he is headed straight to Apple. According to published reports Tuesday, Lynch is becoming Apple's new VP of technology. He will report directly to Senior Vice President Bob Mansfield.
Word of Lynch's departure came directly from Adobe: "Kevin Lynch, Adobe CTO, is leaving the company effective March 22 to take a position at Apple."
Adobe says the company will not replace Lynch in the CTO position. Responsibility for technology development will rest on other leaders in the division, the company says.
Neither Lynch nor Apple have responded to media requests for comment on the news, which is particularly noteworthy given the once highly contentious relationship Apple and Adobe endured while Steve Jobs was CEO of the iDevice maker.
