  • Apple Releases iOS 6.1.3

[WARNING: Jailbreakers should avoid the update, as there is no returning to 6.1.2 JB (even if you saved blobs) with the exception of iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G)]

Apple on Tuesday issued the latest update for iOS. iOS 6.1.3 is now available. From what we can tell, the update chiefly fixes a few minor issues. According to Apple:

This update contains improvements and other bug fixes including:

    - Fixes a bug that could allow someone to bypass the passcode and access the Phone app
    - Improvements to Maps in Japan
Especially noteworthy, of course, is that iOS 6.1.3 (Build 10B329) appears to address one of the security holes utilized by the evasi0n jailbreak tool. So jailbreakers be warned. It's best to avoid the update for the time being.

Yeah those big phones look so ridiculous. The Note 2 I just have to laugh at. It's so giant people can barely hold it in their hands. And it protrudes so far out of a front pocket that it looks like a "growth". The screen is "pretty" I'll grant you that - but it's just so ridiculously big. We've spent so many years miniaturizing phones only now to be going back to the cell phone look of he early 90's?

I have to agree that galaxy note 2 screen size is ridiculous. To me 4.8 is the sweet spot. If only the next iphone looked like the latest HTC one......if only.

I think you meant you have huge monster hands. Lol.

I can compare an Android phone with an HP or Lenovo PC. Comes preloaded with crap and you have to spend hours uninstalling all that crap. Same goes for Android. It comes built in with tons of widgets that some might not use. Apple on the other hand gives you bare minimum and gives you AppStore to install what fits your needs.

Screen size does matter. Big is best. Wider is better.

      That's what she said:-)

Ok dumb question, I'm sure, but just everyone talking about how a 4s 6.1.2 can't be jailbroken?? Am I understanding this, or are you talking you can't go and update your jailbreak if you are already jailbroken?

I haven't downloaded the new iOS, my phone has previously been jb but had some issues and was restored 3 weeks ago. Therefore, can I still jb it to the 6.1.2 version if I haven't updated my iOS?

Was there any added benefit in going to 6.1.2 from 6.1? Either way I'm stuck on 6.1 on my 4.

Do you prefer it to 6x?It just seems to me that 5.1.1 suited the iphone 4 to a T,great battery life, everything was updated to suit it etc

Yeah. 6.x.x on my 4 is not a great combo. 5.11 great! 4.2.1 even better! -though not enough features in 4.

"Status Tint" will do that for you on 6.1.2. It will even let you have a gradient. I have most everything themed on my iPod with individual tweaks and they all work on 6.1.2.
