  • LockInfo 2.0 - The Most Comprehensive LockScreen App Available

LockInfo, developed by David Ashman, who also brought us WeatherIcon, has updated LockInfo to 2.0 bringing a plethora of new features making it the most complete, and comprehensive LockScreen app available for the iPhone.

LockInfo is now completely interactive, infact, so interactive that I find myself unlocking my iPhone less and less, completing most tasks right from the lockscreen. I can preview emails, delete emails, mark emails as read, and so on for SMS and Push Notifications. That's right, push notifications are now featured in LockInfo.

I simply tap on an email, and the windows swings around showing me a preview of the message I wish to read. By tapping a refresh icon, I can check for new mail as well. Read and manage everything from your lockscreen quickly, and smoothly, I **** you not. There are privacy settings that will allow you to hide SMS Texts and even be more specific and hide just subjects and modify preview settings.

    New features in 2.0 include:
    • Push notifications right on your lockscreen.
    • Preview your emails from the lockscreen. No need to unlock.
    • Delete your emails after previewing them.
    • Mark emails, SMSs and push notifications as read directly from your lockscreen.
    • Manual refresh for mail, weather and twitter plugins.
    • Privacy settings to hide SMS text and email subjects and previews.
    • Adjustable font sizes.
    • Performance and stability improvements.
    • Note that many of the new features do not work with HTML themes for LockInfo (Gruppled, 235lax, etc). To take full advantage of the new features, you should turn off the HTML themes in WinterBoard.
LockInfo 2.0 is available in Rock and Cydia for $4.99. Check it Out now via the ModMyi repo

Next week I will be featuring a LockScreen showdown between the various LockScreen apps we currently have available in the JB Community. We'll go into detail about each and compare their pros and cons.

I tried that but my phone isn't springing as fast as it should be. Not sure what is up with it but I would bet it is my phone and not the app.

I have Smart Screen, Quick Widgets and This. Smart Screen is nice but the mail widget is huge and I need 3 screens for my stuff. Quick Widgets is nice (and free) but 3 of the widgets are trials for programs you have to buy (quick sms, quick cal and quick birthdays)

Lockinfo is my favorite for 2 reasons. Everything is on one screen, and the Todo plugin. Plus it is easy to use and setup.

I got it for my old 3G, configured Gruppled LockInfo for it, weather and all, before all of the pieces were readily available on Cydia. So, my "ability" is quite up to par. I immediately reinstalled it once I got my new 3GS. I was completely jacked when I saw the 2.0 release, and am severely disappointed that it refuses to work on my phone. And I have contacted the developer. Last time I checked, message boards are for posting complaints, just as much as they are for posting rave reviews. So, if I sounded a little annoyed in my previous post, I get that way when my phone doesn't work. Keep your asinine comments on a stranger's technical competence to yourself. It makes you look like a self-important little asshat.
I can very easily help you with this. Simply install Crash Reporter from Cydia and send me the last SpringBoard crash log. It should tell me exactly where the conflict is.

I would like to issue an apology to David Ashman (Stimpy5050) for badmouthing his product before giving him a chance to address the issue I'm having. And also thank him for being gracious enough to help me even after I badmouthed him in a moment of irritation.

I switched from Intelliscreen to LockInfo.

My review on LockInfo 2.0 here: LockInfo 2.0 - How the iPhone Lockscreen Should Be | JordanDev. In the review I also suggest other things that are great to have installed also.

Or a very nice theme you can use for it (lose the email previews however) here: great new teehanlax LockInfo theme by ame235 | JordanDev

It makes it look more like this (which looks very nice, wish the default was closer to it):

and you can still tap on the weather to get the 5 day forecast, and the newest version comes with 5 diffent sets of weather icons you can choose from

I just wish email previews worked.
