  • LockInfo 2.0 - The Most Comprehensive LockScreen App Available

LockInfo, developed by David Ashman, who also brought us WeatherIcon, has updated LockInfo to 2.0 bringing a plethora of new features making it the most complete, and comprehensive LockScreen app available for the iPhone.

LockInfo is now completely interactive, infact, so interactive that I find myself unlocking my iPhone less and less, completing most tasks right from the lockscreen. I can preview emails, delete emails, mark emails as read, and so on for SMS and Push Notifications. That's right, push notifications are now featured in LockInfo.

I simply tap on an email, and the windows swings around showing me a preview of the message I wish to read. By tapping a refresh icon, I can check for new mail as well. Read and manage everything from your lockscreen quickly, and smoothly, I **** you not. There are privacy settings that will allow you to hide SMS Texts and even be more specific and hide just subjects and modify preview settings.

    New features in 2.0 include:
    • Push notifications right on your lockscreen.
    • Preview your emails from the lockscreen. No need to unlock.
    • Delete your emails after previewing them.
    • Mark emails, SMSs and push notifications as read directly from your lockscreen.
    • Manual refresh for mail, weather and twitter plugins.
    • Privacy settings to hide SMS text and email subjects and previews.
    • Adjustable font sizes.
    • Performance and stability improvements.
    • Note that many of the new features do not work with HTML themes for LockInfo (Gruppled, 235lax, etc). To take full advantage of the new features, you should turn off the HTML themes in WinterBoard.
LockInfo 2.0 is available in Rock and Cydia for $4.99. Check it Out now via the ModMyi repo

Next week I will be featuring a LockScreen showdown between the various LockScreen apps we currently have available in the JB Community. We'll go into detail about each and compare their pros and cons.

Isn't this the one that was originally free, then when it started moving well, an update was sent out that killed all free ones unless you paid for the "upgrade"? That's a bad way to do business, and frankly, what keeps them from doing it again later when they want to make more money?? I had it and loved it, but when they did the update and I couldn't use it anymore, I decided I would not look back.

Good work David on lockscreen
      Ok, when?!

I agree - at what point does the lockscreen just become another page on the phone?

I've had it since the very beginning and it is very useful to me. Having all of that information available to view during meetings doesn't cause to much of a disturbance. Now I've got 2.0, but I'm unable to view emails unless i'm not touching correctly. Is that feature affected by having a theme applied? I'm currently using the Aqwoah Lockinfo theme.

This has been a common misconception throughout the life of LockInfo. LockInfo was only free during BETA testing. Once the product reached stability, it became a commercial application. The problem is I didn't handle the BETA very well (it was my first app to include a lengthy beta). I will admit that the transition from BETA to release did not go smoothly, though (a lesson learned for my next application).

      3. It adds nothing new to your iPhone experience, and at steep price

      4. Those who purchased it now, will delete it in a month or so.

      5. I owned it, and found it annoying.
I started using this in September when it was still in beta and Iíve found it to be indispensable. So much so that when the final product was release, I didnít hesitate to buy it. I consider it one of the best apps that Iíve come across.
      1. Yes it is redundant of many applications already on the device but it presents the information in a more useful way.
      2. I havenít had a noticeable difference in battery life in the four months that Iíve been using it
      3. Are you kidding!? It makes use of the otherwise useless and un-customizable lock screen.
      4. Ya ok, because you didnít like itÖ. Nobody will
      5. Your opinion

I did have a minor problem early on and the author was quick to respond to my question. I would like to thank him of this app.

      Yeah David.

Would like to see what you come up next.

Anyways I have Smartscreen on my lockscreen and Lockinfo on my Homescreen.
      The 2.0 update is awesome.

I definitely like this feature but i'm still using quickwidgets for the minor features. It's way too pricey for all the events and other stuff so maybe I'll look into this lockinfo sometime.

I am not able to find LockInfo or LockInfo 2 in Cydia. Is it under a special source? What source is it listed under? I can see the cracked versions but that's not what I want.

Drain your battery faster, thats all, and this does a fine job of it. Just about cut my battery time in half... *uninstalled*

This app is fabulous - by far the best app I have on my phone. I haven't noticed any real decrease in battery life. It's really transformed the usefulness of my phone, in fact, I find myself occasionally locking my phone just so that I can see LockInfo to grab a quick update on my life.

The developer is also incredibly responsive to any trouble that you have. Favorite app on my phone.

battery is money, i've been using it for a week'ish now and no problems. First thing i did was set the 'refresh' times to one hour (default is 15 mins or so) though so bear that in mind.

I've noticed about a 25% difference in my battery drain though when I hear mail come in I check the lock screen to see the message so that contributes to the drain plus how many messages I get. I still like it and will keep it.

To all those that have come on here and criticised lock info. please keep your terrible opinion to your self (don't buy it if thats the case). IMO this is awesome and very well worth the small amount you have to pay, there has been issues along the way like David said but give the guy a break its work in progress and getting better all the time. Lock info. Bite sms and sb settings are staples in the jailbroken iphone. This is very professionally done and better than any other lock screen widget thingy out there by a mile. As i said you are entitled to an opinion but know this YOU ARE WRONG.

So you get express an opinion but we don't, well **** you too

Luckily the real world doesn't operate on your beliefs of blindly following.

Didn't buy it either, it was cracked before it was released. Glad I didn't.
