'RaiseToCall' Lets You Call the Person You're Texting By Raising the Phone to Your Face
Want to add a useful new feature to your iPhone? If so, it’s time to check out a new jailbreak tweak called RaiseToCall
by iOS developer Kaushal Trivedi.
RaiseToCall is a genius tweak that makes it so you can raise your iPhone to your face in the middle of text messaging or iMessaging someone to initiate a phone call with that person. The tweak works with Apple’s Messages application, as well as the insanely popular biteSMS messaging solution.
The tweak uses the iPhone’s front-facing proximity sensor to detect when the iPhone comes in contact with your face – the same proximity sensor that turns off the iPhone display when you place your iPhone against your face during a phone call.
Because the feature seems so useful, I'm shocked to see that Apple hasn't implemented something like this into iOS already. It is the small, useful features like this that could make the iPhone so much better if Apple would just listen to the jailbreak community.
RaiseToCall doesn't come with any options to configure, and it requires iOS 6 to install. Because it relies on the Phone application, the tweak is only for the iPhone.
