    With Apple fans, industry analysts, and market watchers eagerly anticipating Apple's next move, sources out of China claim to know what the iDevice-maker will do next: release the iPhone 5S sometime in August.

    The iPhone 5S may be Apple's hottest release this summer, but there's a good chance it won't be Apple's only smartphone launch. Apple, according to Chinese tech news site EMSOne, is still planning a more affordable version of the latest iPhone model, which will be produced from polycarbonate rather than glass or aluminum.

    Although it remains to be seen if the "cheap model" actually manifests (following months of rumors we are all tired of), we do know that the iPhone 5S is coming. And based on a consistent stream of consistent information from industry sources, the next iPhone refresh will be a true world model.

    Unlike current iPhones that need different models for separate carriers, the iPhone 5S will be one to rule them all, compatible worldwide. This also suggests a new chip like Qualcomm’s LTE processor that words on 40 bands.
    The iPhone 5S, we are told in this latest report from China, will even work on China Mobile, which is the world’s largest carrier.

      Hmm, probably won't change to much, especially on design. But that's just my opinion.

      Im hoping iOS 7 is going to make me want the 5S. I didn't buy the 5 as its not much different than the 4S to me other than bigger screen. Since the hardware won't be changed much(per Apples formula) I may wait to see the iPhone 6..6 months after the 5S releases :]

      I love the glass feel on the 4 and 4s, I wish Apple would have stuck with that on the 5.

      I always associated it with "speed". Performance upgrades are all the 3GS and 4S really were. And I assume the same will be said for the 5s.

      I believe the "S" stands for speed. the second refresh of each model is a bit faster than its predecessor.

      iphone 3 had 3G ... 3GS was only a little faster not sure if that's all you meant

      It stands for Siri, guess they'll have to change that now, or he couldn't think of anything better to say at the time of the interview

      'S' has always stood for speed! As someone else said, 'S' models are internal improvements which somehow increase the speed of the phone.

      The "S" never actually meant anything. It was just so it could be distinguished from its practically identical predecessor. My guess is the "s" was researched to be the most marketable letter.

      well this is from a CHINESE source, pretty sure they werent talking to you directly, nor do they care if you ever go to China. Hopefully they can tailor their news around you next time.

      iPhone 5 smashes on iPhone 4S. Downloading multiple apps at the same time and installing 2 apps at the same time on the iPhone 5 without lag is amazing. The iPhone 5 takes better pictures than on the iPhone 4S. Colors are more vibrant and life-like on iPhone 5.

      I thought the same thing until I used my wife's upgrade to turn my 4S into a 5. it's sooo much better. lighter, thinner, faster, smoother, TONS more memory.

      and speedtest clocked me at over 31 mbps on LTE.

      Totally agree, I find myself using my 4s and saving my 5 in a drawer with the rest of my older iPhones. (just fits better in my jeans).
      Can't wait to see what this new model will be. I'm buying it no matter what.

      Yeah i agree took the 5 out when the jail break came out and put the 4s back in the box in the drawer with the other 4 phones. But I'm sure ill git the new iPhone when it comes out to add to my collection lol
