  • AT&T Adds Even More Cities to its 4G LTE Coverage

AT&T has been slowly but surely tweaking the coverage of its ultra-fast 4G LTE cellular network. AT&T Monday announced that it had enabled its 4G LTE network in a few more cities in the United States. Those cities include:

    • Lawrence, Kansas
    • Salinas and Monterey, California
    • Tallahassee, Florida

In addition to bringing new cities a taste of AT&T's ultra-fast 4G LTE network, AT&T has also expanded its existing coverage in the following locations:

    • Athens, Tennessee
    • Lafollette, Tennessee
    • Tunica, Mississippi

4G LTE offers a theoretical download speed of around 100Mb/s, however due to network congestion, the download speeds on 4G LTE in real life situations are closer to 20-60Mb/s. Many of Apple's latest devices, including the iPhone 5, iPad Mini, and iPad with retina display can take advantage of 4G LTE.

We've been waiting forever just to get 3G in my area, and we still don't even have that, while Sprint has 3G here, and Verizon has LTE. My family will be leaving AT&T (and dropping our "grandfathered" unlimited data plan) for Verizon's services soon. I'm sick of AT&T's lousy coverage and service.

LA has had every data upgrade right away. Move to big cities and you won't have to worry about not having coverage.

What i don't get is they turned it on in Bakersfield and Modesto before Fresno? I don't get there thinking! Fresno is bigger than Modesto and has more people on LTE compatible phones than Bakersfield would! LOL

Hey hey, they've touched a good bit of the east coast. I have LTE when I'm back home in Ft. Lauderdale, but I've been loving the healthy boost here in Tallahassee finally
