  • Samsung: Galaxy S IV Coming March 14th

On Monday morning in Barcelona at the start of Mobile World Congress 2013, Samsung confirmed that it's eagerly anticipated Galaxy S IV will be formally unveiled next month, as the rumor mill expected.

The most hyped smartphone in Samsung history will have a press event in its honor to herald its debut on March 14th. As of this writing, however, it isn't known what the actual release date of the device will be.

“We introduced the Galaxy S III in London last year, and this time we changed the venue (to New York)… as we were bombarded with requests from U.S. mobile carriers to unveil the Galaxy S IV in the country,” Samsung Electronics’ mobile division chief JK Shin said this morning, according to Reuters.

Samsung Electronics may have lost its lead in the U.S. handset market but globally the $210 billion South Korean giant is expected to widen its smartphone advantage over its Cupertino, California-based rival this year, helped by a broad product line-up.
Although speculation abounds as to the features packed into Samsung's next smartphone, the new Galaxy S model “is expected to feature a higher-resolution display and camera than its predecessor, as well as a faster quad-core processor."

I hope they blow it out of the water so apple actually realizes they need to innovate.

Curious to see what innovation they bring or will they be like apple and just update existing hardware.

Here's hoping Samsung unveil an awesome product. Competition makes products better and Apple needs the kick in the butt!

You mean you wouldn't root and flash custom ROMs ahead of official releases? I have 4.1.2 on a device that only gets Gingerbread (and it's faster than stock).

Did all that when I had a S2. Some of the ROMs were pretty nice but all of them had some bug or something else that I couldn't live with. Ended up putting it back at stock and havent tried since. Stock Android is good enough to keep me entertained.

The HTC One raised the hardware Bar! So if Samsung doesn't want to stumble they must step up their game including show us their "metal". Apple and HTC devices are in a new "hyper class" of chassis now and PLASTIC COVERED DEVICES NEED NOT APPLY! Sayin...

Agreed, the HTC One is one powerful phone. Didn't bother to look into the upcoming phones so I got the DNA. It's pretty much the same so I'm not missing out on a lot xD

Wonder how drastically they will change the "Look" of the Galaxy series. In the end its still an Android to me. Not great, not bad just is. I think the competition is great..can't wait to see the new hardware.

      ...except battery life.

The DNA has a nice screen, but that's about it. The battery life is terrible.

I'm waiting for the Galaxy Note 8.0!

I think it comes with an attachment to secure it to your head for talking hands free.

Parallels and VMWare don't do too well with rooting. Bootcamp works for me because it does turn your Mac into a Windows machine.
