'Preference WithMe' Announces Settings Panes As You Tap on Them
A new free jailbreak tweak has landed in Cydia Sunday evening called Preference WithMe
by iOS developer DngayRas. The tweak promises to speak out the preference panes that you tap on in the Settings application.
When you tap on a preference pane in the Settings application, such as the Brightness & Wallpaper preference pane pictured above, the iOS device you have Preference WithMe installed on will speak out the name of the preference pane – in this case, the iOS device would have spoken out loud saying, “Brightness and Wallpaper.”
The tweak uses the same built-in voice as the Siri virual assistant does.
When you tap on a preference pane, the preference pane won’t actually open untilt he device finishes saying the name of the preference pane. Another thing to note is that the tweak only works in the Settings application, and not in other applications that have settings for the specific application.
The tweak might be a cool little add-on for some, but those that will benefit the most from Preference WithMe are those that are hard at seeing and find the idea of having what they tap on spoken to them to be a luxurious feature. The tweak requires iOS 5 or higher to be installed.
