Apple recently released new iPad ads that showcase both the fourth generation iPad and the iPad mini. Much like previous ads, the focus of these ads was on apps and the experience of using the iPad itself, however this time, the messaging has been kicked up a notch.
The first commercial, titled “Together
,” starts off with the words including go, tether, hello, watch, leap, roam, flick, etc. before settling on the word wild. The apps mash up and starts another set of words that end on bright, with more apps than words ending together, and finally a last set of words ending in iPad. Among the apps that were showcased included built-in apps such as FaceTime, as well as iBooks, games and medical apps.
The second commercial, "Alive
," follows a similar formula, hitting loud, deep, alive and finally iPad with a wide range of apps, games and other digital content shown in between the mapping to each of the individual words. Examples would include loud music, the anatomy of the human ear, visually loud fashion and drums.
Although the new ads follow the same theme as the previous iPads to date, the pace of these ads seem much faster and similar to that of the previous iPod ads that were on the air before. The direction the Cupertino California seems to be taking in marketing their tablet seems to be more fun and interesting. This may prove to be a more successful given the new, lower starting price point of the iPad mini.
