    One of the nice features of an iOS device is that when you plug it into a power source, it will make a chirping noise to alert you that the power was connected successfully and that charging has commenced. However, the iPhone never makes a noise when you disconnect the power...

    If you want to have a sense of feedback when you disconnect the power, just like when you connect the power, check out a new free jailbreak tweak called Unpower by iOS developer phoenix3200.

    Unpower will play the stock charging chirp noise of an iOS device in reverse when you disconnect the power. It’s pretty cool how it does that and it sounds awesome. It’s definitely a very small modification and will be enjoyed by those that love customization.

    Unpower goes great with another of phoenix3200’s free jailbreak tweaks called Bolt, which will hide the battery indicator and show a lightning bolt icon in the status bar when charging. When you disconnect the power, the lightning bolt will disappear and the battery percentage will display, however the battery icon will still remain hidden. This helps free up some status bar space.

    Unpower works with all iOS devices and is compatible with iOS 6. It has no options to configure and you’ll have to uninstall the tweak to disable it. Unpower can be downloaded right now from the BigBoss repository!

      I intentionally swapped out the chirp with silence because I hate it.

      nice i have my charging sound set as the sound when mario grows after getting a mushroom, would love to change this so it plays the sound when mario shrinks

      anthony any idea where this is stored so i can tinker with it?

      I like it but why is the volume of the backwards chirp LOUDER than the original plug in chirp? I would be nice if it was the same exact volume

      I tried to video record an example of how it acts on mine:

      Oddly enough, it sounds the same volume in the video! (must be how the mic and filters work in my cam)

      I don't think I notice a volume difference. Just a tone difference.

      Definitely jus seems louder cuz the beginning of the power out starts with a higher tone. Same volume though...

      This tweak is complete pants
      My devices already do this as standard
      And if and when I alter I go into the UISounds and alter the power sound file or any other sound
      Send mail receive mail I altered all these last night

      Another tweak to go wrong especially if it needs a upgrade

      Get this, I was comparing the volume (like the video) as I happen to get a notification sound from another program, for that that brief over lap of combined sounds, the new unpower sound was reduced to be the same "normal" volume. (same volume as the other sound, and how the connect volume would be) So for that brief instance it sounded totally normal. Maybe that's a good clue for v .2

      I forgot to add I got a reply from the developer. He said

      "LOL I must say that you're having way too much fun doing that. I'll see if there's a way to adjust the volume to the user's preferences. I've had one or two people ask me to make sure it sounds even when the phone is on vibrate (because they accidentally leave their phone in the car)."

      Thing like this are the point in jailbreaking. Not for me but maybe for others.

      Not sure if you got around to making it, but I liked the idea and made it myself. Location is /System/Library/Audio/UISounds.
