  • iGrill Takes the Guesswork out of Cooking Meat

    MMi Live @ MacWorld

I’m sure Apple never had cooking meat in mind when they developed the iPad, but that hasn’t stopped developer iDevices from pairing the iGrill with one. iGrill is the first Bluetooth enabled device that helps you cook meat perfectly every time. It consists of two parts, the iGrill thermometer device and the free companion App.

“iGrill turns your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad into your own personal sous-chef, enabling you to multitask between your grill or oven and guests with the peace of mind that your food is perfectly cooked, at target temperature and safe for consumption.”

The iGrill is a standalone unit that works in conjunction with any iOS device. The unit comes with a temperature probe and a digital readout that is bright and clear. It’s been designed to be used in a busy kitchen and if you happen too spill something on it, the device cleans up quite easily. The iGrill uses Bluetooth technology to connect to iOS devices and has a 200+ foot range. The unit works perfectly well as a stand-alone unit even though it’s intended to be used with an iOS device.

The iGrill app can display a multitude of information including the amount of time left till your steak is done and it has a cooking timer as well. It also has a meat thermometer screen that should be familiar to anyone who’s ever cooked a turkey. The iGrill also supports multiple probes, “Because everyone likes his or her steaks cooked differently.” The iGrill is available now for $99.
